FAQs

Are you a writing coach or editor?

Nope—and that’s the point.
I don't critique your prose, structure, or plot. I coach your characters like real people—uncovering what drives them, what holds them back, and what emotional truth they're protecting.
When the character makes sense, the story starts to move.

Do I need to send you my manuscript or pages?

Nope!
In fact, I prefer that you don't.
All I need is a snapshot of where you're stuck, a few details about your character, and what you're hoping to shift. We'll work live, in real time, using a coaching process—not editing drafts.

What kinds of writers do you work with?

I work with novelists, memoirists, screenwriters, and short story writers at every stage—from early drafts to final revisions.
You don’t need an agent, a book deal, or a completed manuscript. You just need a story with a character you're committed to bringing to life.

How do sessions work?

All coaching is done virtually (Zoom), and every session is recorded for your private review afterward.
You'll complete a short prep form before we meet so we can jump right into the heart of it.

I’m also feeling stuck as a person, not just as a writer. Can you help with that too?

Yes.
While Coaching the Character™ focuses on fictional people, I’m also a trauma-informed life and leadership coach.
If your stuckness feels bigger than the page, we can talk about what support might look like for you as well.
